Submission of Application for Visa Electronically (SAVE)

You can submit a visa application online through the authorised visa agents of the overseas missions, strategic partners in Singapore or your local contact.

1. Submission through Authorised Visa Agent/Strategic Partner
You may submit your application through the authorised visa agents and strategic partners. Please consult the respective overseas missions and ICA for more information about the authorised visa agents/strategic partners.

2. Submission through your Local Contact
You can also submit your application through your local contact if he/she is a Singapore Citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident who is at least 21 years old and has a SingPass account. Please submit the visa application within 30 days prior to arrival in Singapore. Your local contact is required to furnish his/her passport details in SAVE.

Request Letter of Invitation for Visa Application

Invitation letter take the conference secretary 3-5 days to process.

Individuals requiring letters of invitation to obtain travel visas must send request to by providing following information:

Important information regarding Invitation Letters for visa applications:

  • Your name must be listed exactly as it appears in your passport. Any differences between the name on your passport and the name on your invitation letter or other documentation could lead to a delay and/or denial of your visa.
  • If you are presenting a paper, include the title and session in which the paper will be presented, or if you are exhibiting, please indicate so in your request.
  • All letters will be sent in PDF form to the email address provided.

Travelers cheque, cash, credit cards and currency exchange

Singapore's currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Most credit cards are accepted in hotels, shops and restaurants. ATMs are widely distributed and banks advance cash against the major credit cards. Travellers cheque can be cashed at banks or licensed moneychangers and at selected hotels. Banks are open daily, but some do not do foreign exchange on Saturdays. From Singapore Changi Airport to conference venue, you may choose taxi or MRT trains.

* Taxi: Metered rates, ranging from S$25-S$27, 30-50min trip is expected to travel from airport to conference venue. For taxi fare, please refer to Taxi Fare Calculator.

* MRT: Around S$5, 65-70mins trip to conference venue.

Telecommunications and electricity

* There are three service providers in Singapore: SingTel, Starhub and M1.

The stored-value sim cards can be purchased from airport post office, phone cards dealer, 7-eleven and other convenient stores or retail shops.
Make sure the card you buy can be used in a payphone.

* Emergencies: 999

* Electricity in Singapore is 230 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second.
Outlets in Singapore generally accept 1 type of plug: two parallel flat pins with ground pin.
